The Genlias Monitor is a free service for genealogists who automatically want to receive new additions to Genlias, the database of the Dutch national archives, to complement their genealogy.

Usage

Genlias Monitor has a large usergroup, mostly enthousiastic (amateur) genealogists. To look up fellow users who search for the same family you can search the database of Genlias Monitor.

To protect the privacy of the users, names and e-mail addresses of users are not shown! If you find a user who you want to contact you can do this via this site.

Be ware: This functionality is only available to users of Genlias Monitor! You can become an user by filling in the subscription form.

Do you want to browse the family names without becoming a user? By using the list page you can see the researched familynames. However, you can't contact the researcher via the list page, this is only for registered Genlias Monitor users. You can put a message in the forum.

To identify yourself you have to fill in your e-mail address (which you used to subscribe to Genlias Monitor) and a Monitor ID of one of your searches.

What is a Monitor ID?

A Monitor ID is the unique identification of a search within Genlias Monitor. This Monitor ID, which looks like "20050302-FAMILYNAME-XX", can be found in the messages you received from Genlias Monitor about your search near the description of the search itself.
